BRS Calendar of Events

Another scenic g2g(lv)bcb ride with theGuth. St. Andrews was pretty tough after I left one of my lungs on Chennault Beach. Still, gotta start training sometime for the 2010 Tour de Mukilteo...

July 4 - Eugene Triathlon (fka CDT)
August 8 - Tour de Mukilteo
August 21-22 - Guth & Mt. St. Helens
Sep/Oct - Gramrod (it's still alive)

July - Be Here Now

Oh well. Go Holland I guess!
As to this months challenge for everyone*, relax, take some quality time with/away from the voices in your head (depending on what level Thetan you are).
Pretty simple, just pick any meditative activity, could be Yoga, Tai Chi, Cutting, Transcendental Meditation, Self Flagellation, whatever, as long as you approach it with an open and contemplative mind frame. And no iPod.
Week one, do it 3x5minutes
Week two, 3x10 minutes
Week three, 3x15 minutes
Week four, 3x20 minutes
If you do this right, theres a good chance you'll pierce through the veil and realize how pointless this all is. Don't worry, you are not alone. And with any luck you'll realize there is not much difference between trivial monthly challenges and major life decisions. Everyone who does not complete this challenge can look forward to an endless cycle of birth, death, and rebirth. Those completing the challenge can likely look forward to the same, but also, they get a BRS point. So they have that going for them, which is good.
Gunga Galunga,
Papa V.

*Except for you Spiz. You're challenge is to get me my trophy. Not sometime, but right away. This will require time away from figuring out how any lightbulbs EVER get changed in Poland (Migrant Gypsies) but you have put yourself in this position. No BRS point for this challenge, just the peace of mind knowing you don't have to ride the TDM in a tutu on a child's bike (serious about that btw). You have until Brazil is eliminated from El Copa Del Mundo to get it to me. In my hands. Then I go shopping for a tutu.

BRS Next Generation

I enjoyed another excellent ride with theGuth today around Lake Washington. We had to kill some time before we could pick-up a new bike for his son. Already investing in our BRS youth. Can't wait to see the boy get up St. Andrews on his Trek Mountain Cub...

Also completed my July's Jumping requirements today. I think Guth's May & Murtz's June challenges have been the best back-to-back months so far. You're up next Papa V, so don't ruin it...

Guth's Major

Had a great hike this morning with theGuth at Serene Lake. We met a new little friend on Lunch Rock too. The day before, we also re-certified ourselves on g2g(lv)bcb on our bikes.

So where am I going with this? In lieu of a BRS Major/Gramrod, Guth will be holding a group ride in August at Mt. St. Helens. The more the merrier. We'll plan on camping somewhere near the mountain. Hope to combine the CDT and TDM into one weekend too. Summer just started, so bring on the training!

Also, I'd like to suggest for next year's Eugene Open, the final set should be first team to win 61 games.

USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!

July challenge coming soon. Time to get right with your maker. In the meantime:
USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!USA!

Its been a long time I shouldn't have left you...

(Baby Ventoux training for the TDM)
Been a little out of commission with the new family addition lately so I thought I'd catch up a little, if quickly.
-I haven't made Hajj yet (my next project?), but I'm changing up the name. Chris from Ventoux is now Papa Ventoux.
-Baby Ventoux and View are doing well (though View seems a little tired).
-Sammy, the official dog of the BRS will bite your feet if you make Baby Ventoux cry. Just a warning.
-I have in my possession a jump rope. Today might be the day I break it out?
-Not every part of parenthood is great, but getting up with your daughter at 4:00 am for breakfast and watching South Korea beat up on Greece in a random world cup match, followed by coffee and a long walk with Baby and Dog is pretty cool. She had a hard time concentrating on the game though, she's just too wound up over the US England match later today.
-Lastly a point of BRS business. Theres been some disrepect going on with one of the trophies that needs to be addressed. As a charter member and one of only two people to compete in every major, I would like to propose the following amendment to our constitution: If you have had in your possession a BRS trophy which should be in someone else's possession, and this has been the case for (way) more than thirty days, you need to take off your pretty dress, put on a ratty house frock, dig through your parents garage until said trophy is found and get it shipped to its rightful owner within seven days (or at the very least drop it off with Crash). Failure to comply results in offending members being required to compete in the TDM in a pink Tutu (I'll provide that) on a bike of the steering committee's choice (I'm leaning towards this one). Seriously, its been too long. Make with the trophy. Or ride in a dress on a kids bike. Thats my proposed rule.

The Cool Kids Don't Stop Blowing You Off After High School

No Pyrenees for me. I'm too slow, too much dead weight. I may be slow but I can read between the lines as well as the next schmoe. It's not you, it's me? I'll admit I take a perverse pleasure in making anyone who goes there feel ridiculous for going there. I'll be the first to tell you I can't, until someone else does. Next time you see this Biggest Loser, she will be a frickin' superstar. Here's to the Patron Saint of Mediocrity....

Jump and Jack June!!!

So Jump and Jack June is Murtz & Murtz's first attempt at coming up with a monthly challenge...so if this blows blame Murtz! So the gist of Jump and Jack June is this: (pay close attention cuz it is really confusing)

~I never knew wearing gloves was a must while doing jumping jacks?? Damn, learn something new every day.
*15 minutes a week Jump Rope

For everyone who participates ya get 1 BRS point!

Alright everyone lets get up and get our asses and tits a shaken...Good Luck!!
